Revenues for the organization behind the open-source Firefox browser were up 12 percent to $75 million, with search-related royalties from Google accounting for 88 percent of the total, or $66 million. (Another $2 million or so came from other search engines). Those revenues come from Mozilla’s portion of the search advertising revenues generated by the default Google search box in the Firefox browser.
Google’s overall percentage of Mozilla’s revenues is even bigger than it was in 2006, when it accounted for 85 percent.

NASA uses Mozilla's Bugzilla for Space Shuttle Endeavour
NASA's new bug tracking system PRACA was written using open-source Bugzilla tools that will save NASA considerable amounts of time and money. By using open-source Bugzilla tools, technicians will be able to make changes to either PRACA or IFI more or less on the fly, rather than having to submit any proposed changes to the publishers of proprietary software, steps that often took weeks to achieve.

Kiss Firefox EULA goodbye
When Mozilla requested Ubuntu to show Firefox’s End User License Agreement on Firefox first start, the Ubuntu and other free software advocacy communities cried foul, because for some reason, stating the obvious (that Mozilla is not liable for whatever happens to your computer and that the software is free) is not in tune with the open source spirit.
Mozilla agreed to remove the EULA prompt, and Ubuntu 8.10 shipped without it. Now Firefox users get an information bar on first launch. Which links to a new internal address (about:rights) where users are told about their rights.

The Ubuntu community challenges the Firefox EULA - Mozilla Links
Ubuntu (and about every Linux distribution) ships with Firefox already installed so users are not prompted with the EULA at any time. Mozilla wants Ubuntu 8.10 (due next month) to include a patch to display the EULA on its first run to ensure users sign the EULA, which as said before doesn’t mean most of them will actually read it. Instead, most of them, will just click on whatever they need to.
Point one: why include an annoying EULA prompt?
There are two other points: does an open source product needs an EULA?, and, are the terms of the EULA appropriate?
