It is a very simple thing to do, but many users don't know the power of creating a user.js file to save preferences.
Does this save bookmarks? If not, it's a simple matter to export them as well.
No, this not save bookmarks, only settings of FF or extensions.
To save bookmarks there are many ways, it depends from your taste :-).
Wating Weave, you can save bookmarks saving "bookmarks.html" in your Profile or using Foxmarks.
Ciao
For example, I hate popup: all popup. FF by default, is configured to leave javascript code to pen popup, to forcing FF to open all links in new tabs you can set this preference:
browser.link.open_newwindow.restriction
to zero from about:config, if you save it in user.js you don't set it anymore, simply moving your user.js in your new profile.
Sometime, when Profile is corrupted there are two principal causes:
- incompatible extension
- corruption of prefs.js
If you save your preference in user.js you can restore Firefox by deleting prefs.js (it don't always works but in the major part of time).
If it doesn't work you need create a new profile and moving some files from old one (bookmarks, password, search plugins and user preferences), in user.js are stored user preferences (Tool -> Option in the major part)
Sorry for my english, I know it's not very well I hope you understand.
Ciao
