Mozilla will port Fennec to S60, Nokia’s Symbian-based mobile platform, and the most popular overall, currently commanding about half the total installed base, effectively quadrupling the number of potential users for Mozilla’s mobile web browser.
Together with the other supported platforms, Windows Mobile and Maemo (Linux for Nokia Internet Tablets), Mozilla will reach about 65% of the mobile market.

Ubiquity Tutorial: How to turn a page upside-down - Aza’s Thoughts
In Firefox 3.1 it has become possible to do even more amazing things with CSS. Anything can be rotated, skewed, and translated with just a single line of CSS code. With Ubiquity we can use that power for good, evil, and other. This tutorial demonstrates how, with five-ish lines of code, you can create functionality — both commands and extensions — that are “other”. Perhaps tending a little bit towards evil. Watch the video to find out what unpractical joke we’ve got cooking.

Firefox, Chrome virtually tied for JavaScript speed
On Tuesday, Mozilla released Firefox 3.1 beta 2 and Google released Chrome 0.4.154.33, so it's time for the latest installment of JavaScript performance testing.
Here's the highlight: Though Firefox remains the leader on the SunSpider test, with a score of 2,110, Chrome edged very close with 2,140. A lower score is better; because of some variation in results, the numbers I quoted are an average of several runs.

cool Canvas 3D & Flickr Demo
Normally you’d use canvas for 2D graphics only, but with the recent releases of next-gen javascript engines (Tracemonkey, V8 and Squirrelfish) overall speed got an immense boost, so we’ve been putting some more effort in a canvas based 3D engine.
An early demo of the engine didn’t do any texturing or real user interaction yet, but both of these things have since been added (albeit preliminary), and can now be seen in action in this new flickr-enabled mashup demo. Click any panel to assign a random photo to it.
