If the digital photo you just uploaded looks washed out on Flickr compared to in your desktop image editor, that's because Firefox 3's advanced color profile support isn't turned on. To enable it, type about:config in Firefox 3's address bar, then click the "I'll be careful, I promise!" button. Then, in the Filter field, type gfx.color_management.enabled and set that value to true (its default value is false). Restart Firefox. From there on in, your photo colors will be richer than they were. Why isn't this value true by default? Well, according to Mozilla, you'll see a 10-15% performance hit using this setting, but if you've got a reasonably fast machine, it'll be worth the better-looking photos. Hit the link below for an extended explanation of Firefox's color profile support.

9 Vote(s)

Page Zoom Buttons is an add-on for Firefox that allows you to control the full page zoom feature that is in Firefox 3. Toolbar buttons are provided to zoom in, zoom out, and reset a web page back to its default view instantly. They also work to zoom in and out of local offline files such as photos, graphics, and various documents. You can choose to use a single button for all 3 zoom functions which saves toolbar space, or you can use individual buttons. Page Zoom Buttons will work in Firefox 2 however only the text will be zoomed.
One of my favorite additions to the Firefox 3 browser (currently in Beta) are Smart Bookmarks. There’s a good chance that you’ve played with things in other applications that are similar to Smart Bookmarks. For example, iTunes (and many other media players) have what are referred to as Smart Playlists. These are playlists that automatically assemble themselves based on specific criteria, such as the “most played” and “recently added” media. Smart Bookmarks are very similar since they can show you things like your most visited bookmarks or your recently added bookmarks:

15 Vote(s)

If so, head on over to AMO and claim your Add-ons Developer t-shirt (also available under Developer Tools > T-Shirt Request). If your extension is not currently compatible, you have until March 18th (that’s the sign-up deadline, not the Firefox 3 release date) to claim the swag. Also, if your add-on was developed by a team and you need more than one shirt, please contact us and we’ll do our best to make arrangements. If you need help getting compatible, I recommend checking out developer.mozilla.org or hitting #extdev on irc.mozilla.org. There are talented contributors willing to help, just need to ask. As an extra special thank you, if your add-on is one of the top 50 most used add-ons by Firefox 3 users on the Firefox 3 release day, Mozilla will offer to sponsor (for an amount we will determine) a party for you and your friends. That is, Mozilla will chip in for you and your friends to celebrate your tools success! Mozilla will be in contact with the top add-ons shortly after the Firefox 3 release. Thank you to everyone who has developed an add-on!

9 Vote(s)
