Most Firefox 3 testers agree that the preview release of the new browser promises faster and all-around better surfing—but one of the most noticeable interface changes, the big Back button, has gotten mixed reviews. If you're not a fan of Firefox 3's large back button, you don't have to wrangle with CSS or themes to adjust its size. Simply right-click on Firefox's toolbar, and choose Customize. In the dialog box, select "Use small icons"—and voila! Your back button will be the same size as reload. Thanks, zaxour!

7 Vote(s)

For Firefox users, this is a small hack that I think might come in handy sometimes. Firefox Search Engines support on-the-fly auto-complete, which IE7 as I know doesn’t. This feature however is rarely utilized, but the default Google search engine luckily does use it. It comes pretty useful sometimes, especially when you want to search for something that you don’t know how to spell. Now suppose you want this auto-completion to search for specific product on Amazon rather than Google. You could do that easily without moving your hands off the keyboard as follows:

7 Vote(s)

Firefox only (Windows/Mac/Linux): Firefox extension YouTube Comment Snob filters comments on YouTube videos that don't meet your snobbish standards. It does so using a combination of criteria, like a user-defined threshold of spelling errors (using Firefox's spell-checker), excessive punctuation, and excessive capitalization. You can enable or disable any of the filter options if you don't mind capital letters, for example, and you can view any hidden comment by simply clicking Show. It's a pretty saucy little extension, but now it's hard not to want a full-on Internet Comment Snob.

3 Vote(s)
