The process of building and testing builds which will become Firefox 3 Beta 2 began today at 11:10am PST when development handed over control to the build team for branching and tagging.

As always, the build team will generate a series of release candidates which will be tested by the Quality Assurance team. Anyone who wishes to participate in this effort can join the Firefox 3 Beta 2 Test Day this Friday, December 14th.

In order to limit distribution of this not-yet-tested release, anyone who was linked to the release candidate download directory will be redirected to this announcement. While we appreciate the attention and devotion of our users, we ask them to wait until we have completed testing. If all goes well during the testing, Firefox 3 Beta 2 will be released on December 21st in the early afternoon, Pacific Standard Time.
