Revenues for the organization behind the open-source Firefox browser were up 12 percent to $75 million, with search-related royalties from Google accounting for 88 percent of the total, or $66 million. (Another $2 million or so came from other search engines). Those revenues come from Mozilla’s portion of the search advertising revenues generated by the default Google search box in the Firefox browser.
Google’s overall percentage of Mozilla’s revenues is even bigger than it was in 2006, when it accounted for 85 percent.

This survey was released on the 23rd of September and was available to 10% of FF3 updaters of both 3.02 and 3.03 in 10 locales, including: Japan, China, France, UK, Spain, Italy, Brazil, Poland, Germany and the United States. The basic goal of this survey was to create a standard the Marketing Team can use to periodically measure our users' awareness, usage habits and attitude towards the Firefox, a goal that I think we achieved.

This morning we announced we're partnering with StopBadware.org, the Harvard University based consumer protection initiative developed to combat badware in novel ways. Mozilla and StopBadware collaborated during the development of Firefox 3’s malware warning system.
