Firefox in your country survey results

We launched the pilot Firefox in your country survey last September and received 9,506 responses, which is amazing given the length of the survey (20 questions). Since this is the first time we ran the survey, we wanted to do a test run first and targeted 7 countries: Brazil, India, Germany, Poland, Indonesia, Spain, and Australia. However, answers came in from all over the world! Given the enthusiasm, we’re definitely planning to extend the survey to more countries.

Norway encourages use of open source software

Minister of Government Administration and Reform Heidi Grande Roeys said she was granting 2 million kroner ($285,000) to the national center for free software to adapt and promote OpenOffice for such government use as public reports, accounting and archives.
In April 2006, the Norwegian government announced a long term program to step up use of open-source software to reduce its dependency on computer giants like Microsoft.

Private Mode For Firefox | Universe Firefox

As we have seen with the new Google’s Browser, which is called Chrome, a new interesting feature has come out of the box in the browsing world, and lately it has been integrated in Firefox as well, starting from version 3.1. It is called “Private Browsing mode, where all user activity traces including history, cache, download history, saved passwords, searches, cookies, and others, are removed as soon as the user returns to normal browsing mode”, as Percy Cabello for Mozilla Links says in the latest article.
